Indonesia Jinchuan WP & RKA laterite nickel smelting project has been completed and put into operation

In the early morning of October 30 local time, the last smelting production line 1 of WP & RKA laterite nickel project in Jinchuan, Indonesia, was put into operation as planned and the first batch of ferronickel was produced. So far, Indonesia Jinchuan WP & RKA laterite nickel project has been completed and put into operation.           

Indonesia Jinchuan WP & RKA laterite nickel project started on November 25, 2016, lasting nearly three years. About 5000 people participated in the construction from Indonesia's Jinchuan WP, Jinchuan construction, Jinchuan supervision company, nickel cobalt research and Design Institute, nindu industry, information and automation engineering company, mining engineering company, nickel smelter, copper industry company, thermal power company, power plant, testing center and other units. They overcame many difficulties, such as material shortage, lack of life support, poor transportation and changeable climate, and built a system project integrating mining, power generation, smelting, public and auxiliary facilities and living facilities in a foreign country. Leaders of the group company have visited the site several times to give guidance to the project construction.           

The completion and operation of Indonesia Jinchuan WP & RKA laterite nickel project marks that the group company has realized the full coverage of nickel sulfide and laterite resources, laying a solid foundation for the structural adjustment of nickel resources and nickel products in Jinchuan, which is of strategic significance for Jinchuan to consolidate its position in the global nickel industry.
